Planmed Verity® Extremity CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) Scanner
The Planmed Verity Extremity CBCT Scanner is revolutionizing 3D extremity imaging that provides patients with high-quality images with low dose radiation exposure (provides up to 10 times lower radiation dose compared to conventional MDCT scanners). The Planmed Verity CT scanner offers patients the following:

  • Lower extremity imaging: seated knee, leg, ankle, foot, toes
The scanner can be positioned in a way that is the most convenient for the patient. Fracture healing follow-up is possible without removing the cast.
  • Weight-bearing imaging: standing knee, ankle, foot, toes
3-D image of a standing patient shows the anatomy in a natural position, and can reveal problems that are otherwise non-discernible, such as diminished joint space.
  • Upper extremity imaging: elbow, arm, wrist, hand, fingers
  • Extended imaging capabilities with Planmed Verity MaxScan™: can be used to image diseases, injuries and defects of the jaw/jawbone, teeth, maxillofacial area, sinuses, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), orbits and airways.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) — an Ambient Experience

Using a combination of radio waves, computer technology and a strong magnetic field, MRI produces high-definition, 3-D images of internal organs and structures, which help health care providers to diagnose a wide range of health conditions — from cancer, cardiovascular disease and stroke, to joint and muscle disorders.

With a focus on your comfort, The Steward Center for Sports Medicine and Community Health offers an innovative, calming and stress-relieving approach to our MRI procedure. We are one of very few Valley providers to offer the Ambient Experience from Philips Healthcare, which is designed to reassure, coach and relax you as undergo an MRI. At our facility, you have the ability to choose and control your preferred lighting, visual images and audio during your scan. Our goal is to help you feel more relaxed before, during and even after you complete your scan!

ACR MRI Accred Seal June 2016ACR Gold Standard of Accreditation for MRI
The Steward Center for Sports Medicine and Community Health is an American College of Radiology Accredited Facility for their MRI imaging services. The clinic’s personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance and quality control procedures have gone through a rigorous process and have met specific qualifications to have received this accreditation.

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images inside the body that can be viewed on a monitor. Health care providers often use ultrasound to view babies before birth, as well as other areas of the body, including the heart, liver, bladder, kidneys and breasts.

X-rays are the most traditional form of diagnostic imaging. Even with the advent of many newer, more advanced technologies, X-rays are still frequently used to view broken bones and internal organs, such as the heart, lungs, blood vessels and abdomen.
